Agree with me

Subject-Verb Agreement is a basic concept in the English Language we sometimes forget. A singular subject needs a plural verb in order to be correct; hence, a plural subject needs a singular verb. We should be careful when dealing with them. Here is a site that tackles Subject-Verb Agreement.

  1. Most of us thought that subject-verb agreement is just like a piece of a cake, but this rule is actually one of the most common mistakes that English language students commit.

  2. Making the subject agree with the verb ,and vice versa, is not and ordinary thing to do. It needs a lot of observation and quite a good memory of the rules to make the two agree with each other and make your sentence grammatically correct.

  6. I read an article wherein subject-verb agreement is considered to be a sore thumb of grammar. I agree because a lot of learners are having trouble with this rule. Still, we must remember that this topic is significant in the English language both in speaking and writing purposes.

  7. We should know how to make our subject and verb agree because if not, we may be able to convey a wrong idea to those who are reading our sentences.

  10. "A singular subject needs a plural verb in order to be correct; hence, a plural subject needs a singular verb."

    Revised:
"A singular subject needs a plural verb in order to be correct; on the other hand, a plural subject needs a singular verb."

"On the other hand" is more appropriate than "hence."

  11. I agree with Kuya Mikko, the post has a very nice title. I read it as "AGREE WITH ME!!!" I couldn't help but laugh.
By the way, i got confused when I read "A singular subject needs a plural verb". Yes, the verb almost always has an "s" at the end but does that make it plural? I'm not being sarcastic. Maybe it's something that i haven't been taught yet.
