Sometimes it is
confusing to choose between i.e. and e.g. I
searched on it and found that these two abbreviations have different meaning.
"I.e. stands for id
est and means roughly "that is."E.g. stands
for exempli gratia, which means “for example”"(Fogarty, 2011).

I learned the meaning of e.g. when we were in Third Year but I have never seen I.e. Maybe because I do not read books that much.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. It will come in handy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this.
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered how the two are different from each other.
Thanks for this informative post.
ReplyDeleteIt is very helpful. I often use e.g. when writing. But when I saw i.e. in a book, I thought they have the same meaning so I started to use both of them interchangeably. No one corrected me so I thought it was fine. Now there is no need to wait for a person to correct me. Thanks for informing us. :)

ReplyDeleteNow I know the meaning of those words. I'm curious about their meaning but I haven't tried to search for it. Thanks for sharing that information.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. Now I know the difference between the two.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. It will be easier for us now to know what a sentence implies when we encounter them with these.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting! I'm either curious with the distinction of these terms, from now on I will not be confused.
ReplyDeleteI've learned the meaning of e.g and i.e when I am in high school but I don't know their abbreviations. Thank you Angenica!
ReplyDeleteI thought that i.e means "illustrative example" and e.g means "example given". Hahaha. Thanks for sharing this information!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that there should also be a comma after "i.e" or "e.g.". I always make that error.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good post. It will be helpful when we write papers.
